State troopers plan traffic enforcement effort over July 4 holiday

HAZLETON – State troopers in our area will be out over the July 4 holiday “strictly enforcing” traffic violations.

“The enforcement effort is to promote highway safety and safe travel,” State Police said in a release. “Troopers will be targeting DUI, aggressive driving, tailgating, seatbelt usage, and speeding.”

In the Hazleton area, troopers are planning sobriety checkpoints and roving DUI patrols in southern Luzerne County through the month of July.
