UPDATE: Three injured, one killed in Gold Star Highway crash
UPDATE 10:53pm 7/31/2023 — State Police at Frackville released the identities of three young adults who were seriously injured in Monday morning’s crash on the Gold Star Highway.
Troopers said the 1998 Honda Civic they were riding in lost control for an unknown reason, struck an embankment, and rolled several times, ejecting all four occupants.
Jenna Sallade, 18, of Mahanoy City, was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Andrew Szczyglak.
Three others were seriously injured in the crash and taken by ambulance to medical helicopters at the Gold Star Plaza and flown to trauma centers in Montour County and Lehigh County.
Those injured and flown were Zakary Kluchinsky, 18, Jeffrey Livergood, 22, and Logan Payne, 18, all of Frackville. Their conditions as of Monday evening are not known.
Troopers did not list who was driving the sedan when it crashed.

WEST MAHANOY TWP. – A Mahanoy City teen was killed in an early morning wreck on the Gold Star Highway Monday morning, and three others were seriously injured.
The crash happened around 4:30am on Route 924 southbound just north of the Gilberton ramp in West Mahanoy Township.
A Honda sedan crashed and rolled, ejecting its occupants.
First responders from Frackville, Shenandoah, and West Mahanoy Township, among others, responded and provided aid to the victims.
One occupant was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:50am by Deputy Coroner Andrew Szczyglak.
Szczyglak identified the victim as Jenna Sallade, 18, of Mahanoy City.
Three other occupants were taken by ambulance to the nearby Gold Star Plaza to awaiting medical helicopters and flown to trauma centers.
State Police at Frackville and a crash reconstruction unit are investigating and the highway will be closed for much of the morning.
