Standoff closes Spring St. in Ringtown

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - A State Police Special Emergency Response Team member stands next to a cruiser on Spring Street in Ringtown late Sunday night.
RINGTOWN – The State Police Special Emergency Response Team is trying to convince a man to leave his home in Ringtown at this hour.
State Police have been on scene in the 300 block of Spring Street for several hours as of 12:30am and have been calling to a man via loudspeaker.
While troopers try to open a line of communication with the man, SERT personnel have been responding to the scene, including several that went through downtown Shenandoah at a high rate of speed.

It is not known why troopers want the man to come out or how the incident started.
Shenandoah Ambulance and Ringtown Valley Fire are assisting at the scene.
