Soon-to-be SVHS grads walk through elementary for final time
By Kaylee Lindenmuth
SHENANDOAH – An example to current Elementary school students of where they can go and what lies ahead, and a reminder to tonight’s graduates of where they came from: Shenandoah Valley’s Class of 2019 took one final stroll through the halls of the elementary school Friday morning.
The tradition began four years ago with the Class of 2016, bringing soon-to-be graduates through the halls of the 1994-built elementary center, where they spent most of their elementary years, and the 2012-built addition, completed in time for their 6th grade year.
Led by Vice Principal John Brennan, Valedictorian Emily Demalis, Salutatorian Katilyn Hepler, and Class Speaker Kaylin Najda led the soon-to-be-graduates past applauding elementary schoolers, some of whom held signs.
One class held letters spelling out “Congratulations.”
The walk-through followed the final graduation practice before tonight’s ceremonies.
Shenandoah Valley’s commencement ceremonies will be held at 7:00pm tonight at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Look out for full coverage tonight on www.shensentinel.com and our Facebook page.
