SHENANDOAH – Despite intermittent downpours, the Rescue Hook and Ladder block party in Shenandoah continued on, with a steady stream of patrons throughout the day.
Rains forced some to take shelter beneath the awning of the Hookies rear garage and the former Alma Dress Company building, and cancelled bingo and other games.
Though, area residents still came out for bleenies, pierogies, chili, and other favorites, and, contrary to other media reports, the popular fire truck parade made its way through the borough at 7:30pm as planned.
Saturday, food sales begin at 1pm, though a horseshoe tournament will be held beginning at 9am. According to the fire company’s Facebook page, there are still spots open in the tournament if anyone would like to sign up.
On Sunday, food sales begin at 4:00pm.
