Smoking car flees vehicle fire call in Ringtown

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Ringtown Valley firefighters at the scene of a vehicle fire call after the vehicle fled on July 30, 2020.
RINGTOWN – Firefighters were called to a vehicle fire at the Ringtown One Stop Shop, only to have the burning vehicle flee towards Brandonville when they arrived.
The call came around 5:00pm, drawing Ringtown Valley firefighters to the store at Main and Bridge Streets.
Arriving firefighters found a vehicle smoking and leaking oil and antifreeze at the gas station.

The driver of the vehicle got in and drove off before firefighters could handle the incident.
The vehicle fled towards the Brandonville area, and a Pennsylvania State Police trooper attempted to locate them.
Firefighters remained at the scene cleaning up the fluids left behind, clearing in roughly half an hour.
