Now a resident at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Tym was joined by Mayor Andrew Szczyglak and members of the Frackville Elks Lodge to commemorate his milestone birthday.
Szczyglak presented him with a proclamation, declaring April 23, 2025 as John S. Tym Day in the borough.
“On behalf of the citizens and governing bodies alike, we would like to congratulate you on such a wonderful milestone,” the proclamation reads.
Members of the Elks Lodge gifted him a World War II veteran hat, as well.
