Shenandoah woman rescued from Ringtown crash to be cited
RINGTOWN – A Shenandoah woman who had to be rescued from an overturned Jeep Grand Cherokee in the valley Thursday night will be cited, State Police at Frackville said Friday.
The crash happened around 11pm Thursday in the 100 block of East Main Street.
Troopers said Tahiry Vilella, 37, of Shenandoah, was headed east on East Main Street when they say she lost control of her 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
She struck a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado parked along Main Street before rolling.
The SUV came to a rest broadside, on its side, in the middle of East Main Street.
Vilella had to be rescued from the vehicle by volunteer firefighters from Ringtown and Shenandoah using mechanical tools.
Vilella was taken via Shenandoah Ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers said in a release she will be cited for careless driving.
