Shenandoah Valley cross country runner places 6th in PIAA Foundation meet

HERSHEY – A Shenandoah Valley cross country runner came in 6th in Saturday’s PIAA Foundation meet in Dauphin County.

Robert Espinal, a senior, finished 6th overall in Boys 2A with a time of 17:07.6, just under a minute behind top finisher Gabe Simkiss, a senior from Regina Luminis Academy, Berwyn.

Other Blue Devils competing in the race included junior Gabriel Saba in 100th with a time of 20:06.4, Christopher Meza, a senior, in 163rd with a 21:57.8, and Toby Gudinas, a senior, with a 22:51.3.

Shenandoah Valley did not field a complete team and did not receive a team score.

Mahanoy Area did, finishing 30th out of 31 teams.

The top finishing Golden Bear was Nicholas Manley, a senior, who finished 133rd with a time of 21:06.5, followed by Aiden Tejeda, a freshman, in 160th with a time of 21:53.5 and Grayson Zaremba, a sophomore, in 162nd with a time of 21:57.5.
