Shenandoah Valley basketball alumni, team come together for charity
SHENANDOAH – Current and former Blue Devils came together to help the Shenandoah Valley Sports Locker and Veteran Support Fund this weekend.
The charity event took place Saturday at the high school.
It began with a free throw-thon, where each varsity player shot 50 free throws and received pledges for each one.
Anthony Hernandez raised the most money, $300, and Landon Monaghan made the most free throws, nailing 43 out of 50.
In total, the event raised $2,203.60.
Following the free throw contest, alumni took to the court.
On the Blue Team: Austin Uholik, Robbie Michalik, Matthew Alvarez, Brian Rivera, Noah Allegretta, Richardo Chagolla, Joey Vevasis, Estuardo Salquero, Aaron Dombrosky, and Chris Marconi.
On the White Team: Nick Merva, Justin Alvarez, Isaiah Alvarez, Ed Michalik, Eric Carter, Matthew Creasy, Nick Mikita, Bobby Boris, Dave Foy, and Ryan Melson.
The program began with FT Thon where each varsity player got pledges for the number of free throws made.
The White Team defeated the Blue Team by the score of 76-69.
