SHENANDOAH – Three outstanding Shenandoah Valley graduates will be inducted into the Shenandoah Valley Wall of Fame at next week’s graduation ceremonies.
Superintendent Brian Waite announced the inductees at Wednesday’s regular school board meeting: Rick Examitas, ’92, Rebecca Kayes, ’00, and Anne Chaikowsky La Voie Skirmantas, ’75.
Examitas is the Shenandoah Borough Fire Chief and was described as a “dedicated public servant” by Waite.
“Mr. Examitas has spent his life serving our community as a leader in EMS, fire chief for the borough of Shenandoah, and a 911 dispatcher,” Waite said.
Kayes is a skilled surgical technologist, Waite said, and has worked overseas and for prestigious institutions.
Chaikowsky embarked on a career in television and film production and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
“She remains connected to Shenandoah through her work to establish a Lithuanian heritage museum and her support of Downtown Shenandoah, Inc,” Waite said.
“Their stories serve as inspiration for our Class of 2025 and our entire community,” he added.
The inductees will be honored as special guests and speakers at the commencement ceremonies on Monday, June 2.
