Shenandoah solicitor resigning at end of year
SHENANDOAH – At Monday’s council meeting, the borough accepted the resignation of its solicitor, effective Dec. 31
James Amato had served as borough solicitor for the past three years.
“I truly enjoyed working with everyone on council, as well as Tony, Cassie, and Arielle,” Amato said in his resignation letter, read aloud by Council President Katie Catizone. “During our time together, I believe that the actions of council and the borough team have truly improved the standard of living for borough residents.”
“While there is still much work to be done, there is no doubt that the foresight and accomplishments of this council and borough manager laid the foundation to ensure that Shenandoah has the resources available to continue to improve the quality of life for all borough residents,” Amato continued.
He said he will do all he can to make the transition to a new solicitor as seamless as possible, and is willing to stay on as special counsel to resolve any remaining issues related to the MABS sale.
Amato succeeded Joseph Baranko as solicitor.
