SCRANTON – A Shenandoah native is part of a band that brought home Best Album at a regional awards ceremony this week.

J.T. Thomas, a 2017 Shenandoah Valley graduate, is lead vocalist for Scranton-based Variant Season, alongside Will Perna and Dan McDonald on guitar and Mark Yanish on drums.

At Thursday night’s 11th Annual Steamtown Music Awards in Lackawanna County, the band brought home Best Album or EP of the year for their new EP “Vol. 1.” The awards have been hosted for the past decade by the Electric City Music Conference.

The band came together in 2020 and has released seven singles, the newest, “Fade,” dropping in August.

Their music is available on all major streaming platforms.
