Shenandoah National Night Out a success despite weather threat

SHENANDOAH – First responders from the Greater Shenandoah area teamed up with organizations serving Shenandoah for a successful National Night Out event Tuesday.

Much of the event was moved indoors, into the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens building as storms moved through the area, largely missing the valley until the back half of the event.

While the various community groups set up booths inside, first responders took advantage of the clear weather to display their vehicles in the Shenandoah Ambulance parking lot.

Shenandoah’s fire companies were represented along with William Penn Fire, Shenandoah Police, and West Mahanoy Township Police.

Some of the groups included the Schuylkill County Elder Abuse Alliance, Schuylkill Connects (formerly Schuylkill County’s VISION), WIC, the Schuylkill HOPE Center, Clinical Outcomes Group, Inc., Aqua Pennsylvania, and more.

It was organized as a joint effort between the Shenandoah Ambulance, Shenandoah Fire Department, and Shenandoah Police Department.
