Shenandoah mayor joins Meals on Wheels volunteers for Champions Week

SHENANDOAH – This week is Meals on Wheels Champions Week and a Shenandoah’s mayor helped out in town.
Mayor Bob Cook joined volunteer Tanya Meriondale in delivering to nine seniors in our valley as part of the program.
Champions Week, according to Schuylkill County Meals on Wheels, is dedicated to raising awareness for the program’s vital role supporting seniors in the area. It marks the anniversary of the Older Americans Act Nutrition Program, established on March 22, 1972.
The celebration invites local officials to join dedicated volunteers, which included Cook this year.
Volunteers are always needed and make a difference in seniors’ lives across the region.
