Shenandoah man suffers minor injuries in early morning Interstate crash

DELANO TOWNSHIP – A single car accident on I-81 early this morning left a Shenandoah man with minor injuries today.
According to the State Police at Frackville, around 2:30am, Randy Zamudio-Estrada, 27, was travelling northbound when his 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche left the roadway for an undetermined reason.
Zamudio-Estrada then struck and downed a road sign, climbed up a roadside embankment, travelling there for 240 feet, where he struck a small tree.
Zamudio-Estrada later struck a roadside ditch as he descended the embankment, crossed both northbound lanes before coming to a rest in a grassy area along the east side of the northbound lanes.
Zamudio-Estrada was not seatbelted, and received facial injuries from striking the windshield.
According to Troopers, Zamudio-Estrada will be charged with careless driving.
Responding to the accident were crews from the Delano Fire Company and Ryan Township Ambulance.
