Shenandoah man releases debut author; book signings scheduled locally
SHENANDOAH – A Shenandoah author recently released his debut novel and book signings are set for next month in the area.
Stephen Wasilewski, of Shenandoah, released The River Between Us, a story set in Vietnam following through childhood best friends whose unbreakable bond is slowly fractured by war, politics, and betrayal.
“This story is a work of fiction, but it is rooted in real places, real pain, and the real strength of Vietnamese families, especially women, who endured unspeakable loss while holding on to joy wherever they could find it,” Wasilewski said. “The River Between Us was written to honor the quiet resilience of villages, mothers, daughters, and friendships that survived beyond war, hunger, and grief.”
Wasilewski, of Shenandoah, is a graduate of Kutztown University and Misericordia and is a business owner, providing vocational support and career development services to students with disabilities.
If you’d like to pick up a signed copy of the book, signings are coming up at the Hazleton, Ringtown, and Shenandoah libraries.
Hazleton is April 18 from noon to 2pm, Ringtown is April 21 from 4:30pm to 6pm, and Shenandoah is May 15 from 6:30pm to 8pm.
