COALDALE – Several Shenandoah first responders were on hand to help pay tribute to a state trooper who once served northern Schuylkill County.

Trooper Peter Conforti passed away earlier this week and, Thursday, a procession carried his body from St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in Lehigh County.

First responders from across Schuylkill County were invited to line the route or participate in the procession.

Shenandoah’s Rescue Hook and Ladder Fire Co., along with Coaldale Fire, set up a flag arch for the procession route.

“Several of our members had the privilege to call Peter a colleague and friend,” the fire company wrote in a Facebook post. “Even more members had the honor of working with him on calls over the years.”

Fire Chief Rick Examitas said that personnel from the Shenandoah Community Ambulance Association and Shenandoah Police Department also participated in the tribute.

Conforti was most recently assigned to the Hamburg barracks, but had previously served in the Frackville station.
