SHENANDOAH – As Shenandoah Borough Council met Monday in a special meeting, they mourned one of their own.
Council President Joe Boris announced as the meeting began that James Burke passed away earlier Monday.
Burke, who had lost a re-election bid a month ago, had been battling illness.
“He served the borough of Shenandoah with dedication and commitment,” Boris said, requesting a moment of silence in Burke’s memory.
Burke had won election to council in 2021 and was finishing his first term.
