Shenandoah has not added a single coronavirus case in at least a month
SHENANDOAH – Since at least August 21, the Shenandoah 17976 ZIP Code has not added a single positive case of coronavirus.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s ZIP Code data, sampled on August 21 and Sept. 21, The 17976 ZIP Code, which covers the entirety of Shenandoah borough, the northern section of West Mahanoy Township, and portions of Mahanoy Township, has remained steady at 84 cases.
The number of probable cases was reported as “Redacted (1-4)” in both cases. As of August 21, 729 people had been tested and marked “Not A Case,” and on Sept. 21, 828 had been marked “Not A Case,” an increase of 99.
Of the northern Schuylkill ZIP Codes with data available, Ashland’s ZIP Code — which covers Ashland and a large section of Butler and Barry Townships in Schuylkill County, and Conyngham Township and Centralia Borough in Columbia County — showed the highest increase in cases in the past month at 11.
No probable cases were added in Ashland, and 116 had been marked “Not A Case.”
Mahanoy City added only three positive cases and no probable cases in the past month.
In Lower Northumberland County, Mount Carmel’s ZIP Code — covering Mount Carmel and portions of Mount Carmel and Conyngham Townships — added 25 cases in the past month, with no new probable cases and 216 “Not A Case” entries. Kulpmont added 11 cases, doubling their prior case total, in the past month. Wilburton remains free of any positive cases.
Frackville, McAdoo, Zion Grove, and Barnesville all added two new cases, while Girardville, and Ringtown added only one.
