Shen. Valley to host presentation on dangers of vaping, more

SHENANDOAH – The Shenandoah Valley School District is inviting parents from around the region to a presentation regarding the dangers of vaping and more.
The presentation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 6pm at the high school auditorium.
Michael DeLeon will provide the presentation, which the school says focuses on “the national trend to minimize the dangers of marihuana, fentanyl, vaping, e-cigarette devices, alcohol, bullying, and suicide.
“In 2022, about 1 in 10 or more than 2.5 million U.S. middle and high school students used e-cigarettes,” Superintendent Brian Waite said at Tuesday’s school board meeting. “Most youth that began vaping nicotine move on the vaping THC and marijuana – sometimes unknowingly.”
Students in grades 4 through 12 will also receive age-appropriate presentations during the school day.
The evening presentation is open to parents from any school district, not just Shenandoah Valley.
