Shen. firefighters respond to fire on South Chestnut

SHENANDOAH – Just after 6:00pm, Shenandoah fire crews were called to the unit block of South Chestnut Street for reports of a house fire.
Fire crews were originally dispatched to 15 South Catherine Street, though an address correction sent them to 17 South Chestnut Street for reports of a stove fire with flames extending along a wall.
Firefighters arrived to the Chestnut Street home to find the fire was out, and crews began to check for extension.
PP&L and the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Shenandoah were requested, as fire crews remained at the scene for nearly an hour.
According to Shenandoah Fire, no one was injured, and residents will be staying with neighbors. Firefighters cleared the scene just after 7:00pm.
