Shen. FD offering free smoke detectors, installation on April 17

SHENANDOAH – Time and time again, fire officials say, and incidents demonstrate, that smoke detectors save lives.

Because of that, the Shenandoah Fire Department is offering free smoke detectors and the installation thereof later this month, in conjunction with the American Red Cross.

The fire department will begin at 9:00am April 17 and continue throughout the day as needed.

To receive a smoke detector, you must pre-register and allow a volunteer firefighter into your home to install the detector.

Firefighters will follow CDC guidelines regarding the coronavirus pandemic and will wear face masks.

Registrations will be accepted up until noon on Friday, April 16, and will be accepted online by clicking here, or in person at borough hall, 15 West Washington Street.

Borough hall is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 2pm.
