Shen. Council holds special meeting to consider Girard Park improvements
SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah Borough Council held a special meeting last night. Among the topics discussed were improvements for Girard Park, street repaving, and the appointment of Raymond Stasulli to the Municipal Authority – Borough of Shenandoah board.
Daniel Cook, project engineer for Alfred Benesch & Co., presented a three-phase plan for improvements at Girard Park, which will be submitted to DCNR as part of the grant application for the improvements. The proposed improvements include replacing the current basketball court and tennis court with two new basketball courts, a paved parking lot and pathway to the park, and new playground equipment.Council unanimously approved a resolution for the improvements.
Council awarded two paving projects to Landis C. Deck & Sons to repave North White Street from Coal to Washington Streets, and South Chestnut from Poplar to Cherry Streets at a cost of $59,939.
Council appointed Raymond Stasulli to the Municipal Authority board to fill the vacancy on the board. Stasulli is an employee at Mrs T’s Pierogies, Shenandoah’s largest employer.
