Shamokin woman charged with manslaughter for Tremont overdose death
TREMONT – A 37-year-old Shamokin woman is facing involuntary manslaughter and drug charges in connection with an overdose death here last summer.
State Police at Schuylkill Haven arrested Ashley Fritz, 37, of Shamokin, on Wednesday in connection with the death of Sean Douglas Tosh, of Tremont.
Troopers said Tosh was found dead at his home in the 300 block of West Main Street in Tremont on August 24, 2022.
Fritz, troopers said, told police that she bought heroin to give to Tosh.
She is facing charges felony charges of drug delivery resulting in death, criminal use of a communications facility, and misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment.
She was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David Rossi and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $50,000 cash bail.
Troopers said she was on supervised release for a 2018 drug charge.
