POTTSVILLE – The Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) has new leadership on their board of directors.

SEDCO is the primary economic development organization in Schuylkill County.

Christine Verdier, from Senator David G. Argall’s Office, takes over as chairperson while Kirk Fanelli is now vice-chair. Brock Stein was installed as treasurer, and Mike Fox, Esq. is assistant treasurer.

Demetrius Kasmari is now secretary as well.

SEDCO began in 1952 to improve economic conditions in Schuylkill County and has developed the Highridge Industrial Park. Over time, the corporation absorbed local industrial development groups, like Shenandoah Industrial Development Enterprises (SIDE) and the Mahanoy Area Joint Industrial Corporation (MAJIC) and their industrial parks.
