HAZLETON – Scholastic musicians from across our area have had a busy year so far with county and regional band festivals.
Luzerne County Band

Fourteen Hazleton Area students were selected to participate in Luzerne County Band. The festival took place March 4 at Lake-Lehman High School and featured two bands, one for grades 7-9 and one for grades 10-12.
The band members were accepted by a committee of band directors based on recommendation of their abilities in the HAHS band. Each student has to meet the criteria of excellent participation and musical ability in order to be considered for the festival.
Over 120 students in all were selected
