School asking for public’s help identifying vets missing on WWII memorial
SHENANDOAH – The Shenandoah Valley High School honored those who served our country in World War II years ago with a memorial outside the gym.
That memorial, put together by the Shenandoah Valley Student Council at the time, compiled over 3,000 names and, over time, the district says some veterans were inadvertently missed.
The school is asking for the public’s help identifying some of those that were missed so they can be added.
All veterans from Shenandoah and West Mahanoy Township are eligible, regardless of what school they attended.
If you know of someone, email their name to the school’s PR director, Bob Yudinsky, at [email protected], or Student Council Advisor Anthony Pytko at [email protected].
Those who were missing will be acknowledged at the school’s annual Veterans Day Program, hosted by the student council.
