Rush Township apprehend one for burglary in Hometown; another wanted

HOMETOWN – A Lehighton woman is in Schuylkill County Prison and a man is wanted after a burglary in the village of Hometown this morning.
According to Rush Township Police, officers were called to the unit block of Meadow Avenue around 10:30am for reports of a suspicious person at that location. An investigation revealed two had committed burglary there, and one was located on foot nearby. The other fled on foot, and all property was recovered.
“The Rush Township Police would like to thank the vigilant members of the public and also the officers of the Tamaqua Police Department for their assistance in this incident,” said Chief Kenneth Zipovsky. “Although it was an unfortunate occurrence, the swift notification of the crime and the identification of the offenders are just another example of the collaboration in the constant efforts of making a safer community.”
Jasmine Conner, 37, of Lehighton, was apprehended and faces charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance. She was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Reilly, Pottsville, and committed to Schuylkill County prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Police additionally are seeking Matthew Haydt, 31. He is described as a white male, 5’9″, 155 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He was wanted for burglary, criminal trespass, theft, and receiving stolen property. He has no known permanent address, and anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
