RINGTOWN – Joined by family, friends, and fellow scouts, a Ringtown teen was recognized Saturday as he received the highest rank in scouting.

Brenden Mitchell received the rank of Eagle Scout at a court of honor ceremony held at Aurand United Methodist Church.

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL – Ringtown Scoutmaster Chuck Faust, right, serves as master of ceremonies as Brenden Mitchell receives his Eagle Scout rank on April 21, 2024.

He is a member of Ringtown BSA Troop 731.

According to BSA, since 1912, more than two million Boy Scouts have earned the Eagle Scout rank.

“In the words of the Eagle Scout Promise, Eagles do their best each day to make their training an example, their rank and their influence count strongly for better Scouting and for better citizenship in their troop, in their community, and in their contacts with other people,” a BSA statement in the court of honor program reads. “To this they pledge their sacred honor.”
