Ringtown Rotary spurs project to install benches at Union Township recreational trail

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Seated Tuesday on a new bench, from L-R: Rotary members Richard Drukker, Vickie Dash, and Charles Scodari. Standing are Union Township Supervisors David Briggs and Jeff Ambrose.

RINGTOWN – Five new benches are set to be installed along the Union Township Walking Trail just outside Ringtown, thanks to the Ringtown Area Rotary.

The Rotary spurred the project to have the benches installed and mustered community support for the project.

Six more people are interested in purchasing memorial benches as well.

The idea for the project came about when the trail was first discussed a few years ago and the first benches were ordered earlier this year.
