Rehearsals underway for Jr. County Band at SV

SHENANDOAH – Musicians from across Schuylkill County were at the Shenandoah Valley High School Thursday evening, practicing for Saturday’s Jr. Schuylkill County Band concert.

SV is hosting the concert for the first time in about ten years.

Guest conductor Michael Ryan rehearsed with the full band in the auditorium. He is a retired band director who taught for 36 years.

Students from Shenandoah Valley, Mahanoy Area, North Schuylkill, Blue Mountain, Minersville, Pine Grove, Pottsville, Saint Clair, Schuylkill Haven, Saint Jerome’s, Tamaqua, Tri-Valley, and Williams Valley are participating.

The concert is Saturday at 1pm at the high school.
