Red Cross calls for volunteers to help at fires, disasters

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Patricia Daley, American Red Cross, explains to Shenandoah Assistant Chiefs Joe Boris, center, and Joe Kayes, on how to fill out the form documenting alarm installations on March 22, 2023.

SHENANDOAH – The American Red Cross is seeking volunteers to help at house fires and other disasters.

“For generations, people have stepped up to care for one another through the Red Cross,” said Jorge Martinez, CEO of the American Red Cross of Greater Pennsylvania. “These deep roots in local communities are the foundation for our 24/7 work to prepare our neighbors and comfort them when the worst happens.”

They will hold a free virtual information session on Feb. 12 to discuss what it’s like to volunteer with the Red Cross and support those impacted by disaster.

The session will be held over Zoom at noon.
