Ray Jones, longtime Ashland borough manager, firefighter, dies

ASHLAND – The man at the administrative helm of Ashland borough passed away Sunday morning.

Ray Jones, 57, of Ashland, had been the borough’s manager for more than a decade.

He was also a dedicated firefighter both in Ashland and professionally at Fort Indiantown Gap in Lebanon County.

He served on the board of directors for the Pioneer Tunnel, board member of Schuylkill County Land Bank and board member of Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce.

Jones ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for Schuylkill County Commissioner.

A viewing for family and friends will be Thursday May 16, 2024 from 9-11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Services will be Thursday May 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Jeremy Smallwood officiating.  Burial will follow services at Brock Cemetery in Ashland.
