Public hearing, meeting set for Project Hazlenut application to DEP
HAZLETON – A public meeting and hearing is set for regulators to consider part of a data center campus proposal near Hazleton.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is planning a two-part event at the Hazleton Area High School set for Feb, 17 from 5pm to 9pm. DEP is considering a modification to an NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit application for Project Hazlenut in Hazle and Sugarloaf townships.
It will be a public meeting to answer questions on the overall project and a public hearing to accept additional comments don documentation and plans associated with the application, DEP said in a notice published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin. The meeting portion will be 5pm to 6:5pm and the hearing will be 7pm to 9pm.
NP Hazleton Holdings 1, LLC, a Northpoint Development company, filed the application. The project would discharge stormwater to Black Creek and Stony Creek, according to DEP.
DEP requests that individuals intending to ask a question at the meeting or to testify at the hearing submit a written notice of intent to Patricia Monahan, Community Relations Coordinator at: [email protected]
