PSP: Two from New Philadelphia killed in Wayne Township crash
REEDSVILLE – Two people from New Philadelphia were killed in a two vehicle crash Monday afternoon in this Wayne Township village.
State Police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash happened around 2:30pm on Route 183 in the area of 23 Meadow Brook Drive.
Troopers said Carolynn Drum, 39, of New Philadelphia, was headed north on Route 183 in a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander as Paul Laudenslager, 46, of Easton, was headed south in a 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer.
Drum’s vehicle, troopers said, crossed the center line and into the opposite lane, striking the side of the trailer.
Drum and her passenger, 18-year-old Maria Ensinger, of New Philadelphia, were pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, 19-year-old Adam Pontry, of Wapwallopen, was taken to a Reading hospital by Shenandoah Ambulance for treatment of a minor injury.
Laudenslager was not injured in the crash.
