PSP stepping up traffic enforcement for Memorial Day weekend

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - A State Police cruiser has a vehicle pulled over on Lehigh Avenue in Frackville on May 24, 2024.

FRACKVILLE – State troopers will be out in force in our area this weekend as part of a traffic enforcement effort over the holiday weekend.

State Police Troop L, which covers Schuylkill, Berks, and Lebanon counties, says they will be “strictly enforcing violations of the Pennsylvania vehicle code over the Memorial Day weekend.”

The effort, they said, is to promote highway safety and safe travel.

Troopers will target DUI, aggressive driving, tailgating, speeding, and seatbelt usage.

They were already out in the Frackville area Friday afternoon, stopping a car on Lehigh Avenue.
