PSP: Port Carbon teen leads troopers on pursuit in Branch Twp.

PHOENIX PARK – A Port Carbon teen is facing charges after state troopers say he led them on a pursuit through Phoenix Park and Llewellyn Sunday night.

State Police at Schuylkill Haven said they spotted a Jeep Grand Cherokee commit a traffic violation near Main Street and Phoenix Park Road in Phoenix Park around 11pm Dec. 18.

When troopers tried to pull the vehicle over, the vehicle fled.

A short pursuit followed, leading through Llewellyn, before troopers executed a pursuit intervention technique, bringing the SUV to a stop.

Christopher Cicero, 18, of Port Carbon, and a juvenile were taken into custody at the scene. The juvenile was later released to a guardian.

Cicero was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and criminal mischief, along with a host of traffic violations.

He is free on $20,000 unsecured bail and awaiting a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge David Rossi.
