NORTHERN SCHUYLKILL – The following is a compilation of police incidents handled by the Pennsylvania State Police in and around our coverage area.

PSP: Altamont man fired shots into woods at 3am

ALTAMONT – An Altamont man is accused of firing off two shots into the woods from his back porch in the middle of the night in this section of West Mahanoy Township.

Trooperes said that, around 3:00am Saturday on East Spring Street, John Hysock, 43, was seen firing shots into a wooded area behind his house, located in a residential neighborhood.

Hysock was subsequently cited for disorderly conduct.

Borough man accused of DUI in Heights

SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – A Shenandoah man is accused of DUI after troopers responded to a disabled vehicle call, and found the truck’s operator was drunk.

State Police at Frackville said they were called to the unit block of Schuylkill Avenue in the Heights around midnight Saturday for a disabled vehicle call.

Troopers made contact with the operator, 22-year-old Joel Santana, who they determined was under the influence of alcohol.

Santana was subsequently arrested, and charges for DUI are now pending.

Abandoned farm house, mobile home vandalized in rural Zion Grove

ZION GROVE – State Police at Frackville are investigating an act of criminal mischief in the 100 block of Bunker Hill Road in North Union Township.

Troopers were called to the scene around 8:00pm Friday for the report. Windows of an abandoned farm house and abandoned mobile home were both shattered.

Mahanoy woman with suspended license crashes car in rural Schuylkill Twp.

SCHUYLKILL TWP. – A Mahanoy City woman was uninjured but is facing charges after she crashed her car in rural Schuylkill Township, between Tuscarora and Barnesville, Friday afternoon.

According to State Police at Frackville, the crash happened in the area of 300 Moss Glen Road in Schuylkill Township around 3:30pm.

Dalilah Trygar, 25, of Mahanoy City, was headed north on Moss Glen Road when she lost control of her 2008 Chevy Impala in a right hand turn.

She crossed the southbound lane and struck a tree, disabling the vehicle.

No injuries were reported, but Trygar was cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license and other traffic violations.
