NORTHERN SCHUYLKILL – The following is a compilation of incidents handled by the Pennsylvania State Police in and around northern Schuylkill County.

Orwigsburg PD cruiser, personal car egged in W. Brunswick

State Police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating an act of criminal mischief in West Brunswick from a few weeks ago.

Troopers say, around midnight Feb. 22, a 2018 Toyota Highlander, belonging to a private resident, and a 2018 Ford Police Interceptor, belonging to the Orwigsburg Police Department, were egged in the 1000 block of Chestnut Road, State Route 443 outside Orwigsburg.

The Toyota had chipped paint on its hood, and the cruiser had the same on its passenger side door and bumper.

Pine Grove man strikes tree, Life Flighted, and accused of DUI

A Pine Grove man is in a Montour County hospital and accused of DUI after he hit a tree in Washington Township Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened around 3:45pm at Dewalt Road and Mountain Road, according to State Police at Schuylkill Haven, when Brian Foster, 43, of Pine Grove struck a tree with his pickup truck.

Troopers said he missed a slight turn in the road before hitting the tree.

He was unconscious when firefighters arrived and extricated him, and troopers said he had an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath.

Pine Grove Ambulance personnel treated him at the scene and transported him to an awaiting medical helicopter. From there, he was taken to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville with unspecified injuries.

DUI charges are pending, troopers said.

Firefighters from Friedensburg assisted at the scene.

Auburn man cited when unleashed dog attacked neighbors dogs

An Auburn man was cited by state police after his unleashed dog entered his neighbors property and began attacking her two leashed dogs.

The incident happened around 5:30pm on March 2 in the 400 block of Green Tree Drive in West Brunswick Township.

Troopers from Schuylkill Haven said 21-year-old Charles King’s dog entered the neighbors property and attacked a pair of dogs which were properly leashed to a clothesline pole and supervised by their owner.

The dogs were quickly separated and no one was injured.

King was cited for failure to properly leash a dog.

Tool bag swiped in Hazle Township

State Police at Hazleton are investigating the theft of a tool bag near Hazleton.

Troopers were called to the area of Arthur Gardner Parkway near the access road to Coxe Village for a theft around 7:30am on Feb. 24.

According to troopers, an unknown person stole a tool bag with a power drill inside and fled.

Hazleton man charged for PFA violation in Harwood

A Hazleton man is in Luzerne County Prison for violating a no contact protection from abuse order in the village of Harwood.

State Police at Hazleton were called to a home in the 1300 block of Harwood Road, Hazle Township around 10:00am Feb. 25.

Troopers said that Juan Colon, 42, of Hazleton, had violated a no contact PFA by calling the victim and making threats. Additionally, Colon was seen leaving the victim’s garage earlier that morning.

Colon was taken into custody and charged with criminal contempt of a court order. A hearing was held on March 3 at 9am, troopers said, where Colon pleaded guilty.

He was subsequently sentenced to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility and a mental health evaluation, troopers said.

Dirt bike, quad stolen in Jeansville

State Police at Hazleton are investigating a burglary in the village of Jeansville.

Troopers were called to the 1000 block of Jeansville Road around 1:00pm on March 2 for the report.

They said an unknown person broke into a detached garage via a side door and swiped an orange Tao DB27 125cc dirt bike and a white 450cc Yamaha quad.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call PSP-Hazleton at 570-459-3890.
