NORTHERN SCHUYLKILL – The following is a compilation of police incidents handled by the PA State Police in and around northern Schuylkill County recently.
Vehicle’s rear window smashed in Girardville
The rear window of a 2015 Toyota, parked on East Main Street, was smashed overnight Saturday into Sunday, and state troopers are investigating.
The vehicle’s owner told troopers he parked his car outside his house around 10:30pm on March 7, and came outside to a smashed window around noon March 8.

Minersville teen treated for alcohol poisoning, to be cited
A 16-year-old from Minersville will face an underage drinking citation after troopers responded to a report of alcohol poisoning early Sunday morning.
Troopers were called to Sunbury Street in Cass Township around 1:00am March 8 for the incident, in which a 16-year-old was suffering from possible alcohol poisoning.
Troopers said he was intoxicated and taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill for evaluation.
A citation for underage drinking will be filed with Magisterial District Judge David Rossi, Tremont.
Coaldale woman’s death under investigation
State Police at Frackville are investigating the death of a 36-year-old woman in Coaldale.
Troopers were called to the Coaldale Family Development around 7:30pm March 6 for the investigation, when Coaldale Police found the woman deceased.
Coaldale officers asked State Police to assume the investigation.
Troopers said the investigation is ongoing, and the cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy and toxicology results.
Hazle Twp. man loses $3k to phone scame
A 61-year-old Hazle Township man is out $3,000 after a phone scam made him believe his social security number was corrupted.
State Police at Hazleton were advised of the incident around 6:30pm Feb. 21, when the victim told police he was called and told his number was corrupted and that he had to pay in Target gift cards to have it reinstated.
$3,000 in Target gift cards were purchased, and the numbers were provided to the alleged thief via phone.
McAdoo man arrested with warrants, meth, fentanyl in Luzerne
A McAdoo man is in Luzerne County Prison after state troopers caught him with drugs and warrants in Foster Township, Luzerne County.
Troopers made contact with the man, Jeremy Baer, 30, of McAdoo around 1:00am March 6 at South Street and Foster Avenue at the Freeland-Foster Township line.
Troopers said Baer had warrants out of Luzerne County and was in possession of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl at the time.
Additional charges for the drug possession were filed.
