PSP: Pedestrian struck at West and Centre in mid-December
SHENANDOAH – State Police at Frackville released information Tuesday on an incident in which a 67-year-old woman was seriously injured while crossing Centre Street at West Street in mid-December.
Troopers said the incident happened around 11am Dec. 14 when 67-year-old Eileen Rivera, of Shenandoah, was crossing West Centre at West Street near the Polish American Fire Co. when she was struck.
They said 80-year-old Maryeve Bauser, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox and turned from West Street east onto Centre Street, striking Rivera who was in the crosswalk.
Rivera was taken to a local hospital by Shenandoah Ambulance for treatment of suspected serious injuries.
Bauser was not hurt but was cited for careless driving.
