MAINVILLE – A motorcyclist was flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville after state troopers say a tractor he was illegally passing struck him in rural Columbia County.
The crash happened around 12:30pm Friday at Mainville Drive and Maple Drive in Main Township.
Barry Lee, 74, of Bloomsburg, was headed south on Mainville Drive riding a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Troopers said he was tailgating a 1973 International Harvester tractor, driven by Wayne Shuman, 70, of Bloomsburg.
Shuman attempted to turn left onto East Maple Drive, unaware of Lee’s presence as he began a pass attempt in a no passing zone.
The tractor struck the motorcycle, and Lee was injured and flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Troopers said Lee will be cited for the incident.
