PSP: Man found home broken into, wire stolen, saw someone run upstairs
SHENANDOAH – A man renovating an east end home found the home broken into, with wire stolen, and, while securing the home, saw someone running upstairs Sunday evening.
That woman, Tiffany Koncsler, 34, of 514 W. Penn Street, was found by troopers hiding in the basement of an adjoining row home and is now facing felony burglary charges, along with misdemeanor drug possession.
Koncsler was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer, Tamaqua, Sunday night and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post 10% of $5,000 cash bail.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Trooper Michael Tomko of the State Police at Frackville, troopers were called to 223 North Bower Street around 4pm for a reported burglary.
Troopers spoke to the property owner, Jhony Cortes, who owns 223-225 North Bower, a former duplex he purchased at a tax sale and is renovating. Cortes said he secured the home on Feb. 24 and returned Sunday to find the doors kicked in and sections of wire cut or missing, along with other property damage.
State Police cleared the scene, and Cortes began securing the property when he heard noise and saw feet running up the steps.
He exited the home, called police, and officers from multiple agencies converged on the row.
Officers began sweeping the homes and found a hole in the drywall in the upper floors of 223 North Bower, allowing entry into a crawlspace. There, troopers said access was created through the entire row. Access was also created through the row in the basement.
The basement is where troopers found Koncsler hiding. With her was a purse which troopers said contained two white pills containing an unknown substance, aluminum foil with burnt residue, and two straws with white residue.
While in the back of a State Police patrol car, troopers said a red container containing suspected methamphetamine was found next to Koncsler. The trooper to whom the car was assigned said he did not have anyone else in custody in the vehicle that day.
Koncsler is facing felony burglary and criminal trespass charges, along with misdemeanor drug and drug paraphernalia charges.
She is scheduled to appear before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker for a preliminary hearing on March 16 in Shenandoah.
This was the day the State police were driving like lunatics. All to get on scene of squatters. Then when they kill someone driving like that they can get they’re qualified immunity to have the taxpayers pay for anything they do wrong..I call BS!!
