PSP: Man breaks into home, swipes panties
HAZLE TOWNSHIP – A Hazleton man is in Luzerne County Prison, accused of breaking into someone’s house and swiping a $5 pair of women’s underwear.
The break-in happened around 1am Friday, State Police at Hazleton said in a media release, at 300 Windy Hill Road in the township, just southwest of Freeland.
When troopers arrived, they hailed out the suspect, identified as Eugene Babula, 30, of Hazleton.
He had broken into the place by shattering a window.
Troopers said Babula stole a pair of pink mesh women’s underwear from the residence and had them when he was caught.
He was arrested, arraigned, and committed to Luzerne County Prison, unable to post $40,000 cash bail. He is charged with felony burglary, criminal trespass, misdemeanor criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking, and possession of marijuana.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 14.
