SHENANDOAH – The health system operating the only medical facility in Shenandoah is continuing its Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) Residency Program for the second consecutive year.

The program put on by Primary Health Network connects CRNP’s with federally qualified health centers, like their center on West Centre Street in town, and reduces barriers to care, improving access to services.

“By establishing the CRNP Residency Program at PHN, we can provide a comprehensive, direct approach, integrating the residents into the environment of an FQHC,” she Dr. Angela Hogue, Chief Medical Officer at PHN. “By providing an immersive and supportive learning atmosphere, we can create a confident, skilled, and mission-led generation of healthcare professionals, focused on improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve.”

The program runs from September 2026 through August 2027, accepting two residents annually. It’s a one-year, salaried residency followed by employment at the Primary Health network.

Applications are open and due by Feb. 27. Eligible candidates include Family Nurse Practitioners who completed their program after August 2025 and are licensed in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
