Pottsville Maroons topic of Shenandoah Historical Society’s July talk
SHENANDOAH – The Greater Shenandoah Area Historical Society’s meeting for July focuses on the upcoming centennial of Schuylkill County’s NFL title.
Diana Prosymchak, executive director of the Schuylkill County Historical Society, will give a talk on the Pottsville Maroons, the 1925 NFL champion football squad, on July 2 at 6:30pm at the historical society at Main and Cherry Streets.
In the centennial, the area is making a strong push to have the title returned to Schuylkill County, which was stripped by technicality and is currently, officially, assigned to the Arizona Cardinals franchise.
The talk is free to attend and refreshments will be served.
