Pot pallets worth $1.2M seized from rig in Columbia County

MIFFLINVILLE – Five pallets of pot worth more than $1.2 million were seized in a traffic stop earlier this month in Columbia County, state troopers announced Tuesday.

A State Police Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program unit made the discovery, according to a media release from the State Police at Hazleton.

Troopers were conducting an enforcement detail at the Mifflinville rest area in Mifflin Township on March 16 when a trooper noticed a strong odor of marijuana from a tractor trailer.

Five pallets of marijuana pre-rolls were found and seized, including multiple containers of premium infused pre-rolled cannabis joints, cannabis-infused edibles, disposable vape pens, and more.

The total value of the items is just over $1.2 million, troopers said.

No charges were announced Tuesday.
