Pools, schedule set for District 24 Little League tournament

The field is set for the District 24 Little League Tournaments, and the northern Schuylkill County teams competing.

10-12 Bracket
Four northern Schuylkill teams will compete, including Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, Ashland, and a combined Northern Schuylkill team from Ringtown, Frackville, and Girardville.

Northern Schuylkill will compete in pool 1, with Tri-Valley, Upper Dauphin, and Cressona.

Shenandoah will be in pool 2, with Pottsville Area, Halifax, and a combined Saint Clair/Port Carbon/New Philadelphia team.

In pool 3, you’ll find Mahanoy City, along with Line Mountain, Orwigsburg, and Pine Grove.

Ashland rounds out a three-team pool 4, with Minersville and Schuylkill Haven.

The 10-12 Schedule for local teams is as follows, with all games beginning at 5:30pm:

Cressona at Northern Schuylkill (Frackville)
Shenandoah at Saint Clair/Port Carbon/New Philadelphia (Saint Clair)
Mahanoy City at Pine Grove

Tuesday, June 26
Shenandoah at Pottsville

Thursday, June 28
Northern Schuylkill at Upper Dauphin
Schuylkill Haven at Ashland

Sunday, July 1
Northern Schuylkill at Cressona
Saint Clair/Port Carbon/New Philadelphia at Shenandoah
Pine Grove at Mahanoy City
Minersville at Ashland

Tuesday, July 3
Tri-Valley at Northern Schuylkill
Halifax at Shenandoah
Orwigsburg at Mahanoy City
Ashland at Schuylkill Haven

Quarterfinals will occur on Friday, July 6, Semifinals on Sunday, July 7, and Finals on Tuesday, July 10.

9-11 Bracket
Three northern Schuylkill teams will be competing in the 9-11 bracket, including Shenandoah, Ashland, and Northern Schuylkill, a combination of Frackville, Girardville, and Ringtown.

All three northern Schuylkill teams will compete in Pool 2, which also includes Orwigsburg, Pottsville Area, and Upper Dauphin.

Pool 1 includes Pine Grove, Halifax, Minersville, Schuylkill Haven, and Saint Clair/Port Carbon/New Philadelphia.

The schedule for the northern Schuylkill teams in the 9-11 year-old bracket is as follows:

Saturday, June 23
1pm: Pottsville at Ashland

Sunday, June 24
1pm: Nortnern Schuylkill at Shenandoah

Thursday, June 28
5:30pm: Northern Schuylkill at Orwigsburg
5:30pm: Ashland at Shenandoah

Saturday, June 30
1pm: Shenandoah at Upper Dauphin

Sunday, July 1
1pm: Ashland at Northern Schuylkill (Ringtown)

Thursday, July 5
5:30pm: Shenandoah at Pottsville
5:30pm: Upper Dauphin at Northern Schuylkill (Ringtown)
5:30pm: Orwigsburg at Ashland

Semifinals will occur on July 7, with the championship game occurring on July 9.
