Police: Woman enters home, breaks into garage, charges homeowner with hammer

SHENANDOAH – A Port Carbon woman is facing charges after police say she entered a west end home and charged at the homeowner with a hammer in his own garage.

Justine Myro, 35, was charged with felony criminal trespass and aggravated assault, along with misdemeanor reckless endangerment, simple assault, and drug charges.

According to Shenandoah Police, officers were called to a burglary in progress around 5pm Thursday on West Lloyd Street.

Police accused Myro of entering the kitchen of a home and said, when confronted by one of the homeowners, she ran outside and broke into the garage.

Another homeowner entered the garage to remove her when police said she charged the man with a hammer. He was able to detain Myro until police arrived.

She was arraigned and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $25,000 cash bail.
